“Micro” Dentistry

“Micro” Dentistry

Our CrystalAir micro-abrasion technology uses a stream of ultra-fine particles (similar to an airbrush) to treat decay at very low pressures (as low as 20 psi). Such low pressures typically generate no patient sensitivity. Air abrasion also eliminates the noise, heat, smell and vibration of the dental handpiece.

The philosophy of “micro” dentistry is the practice of detecting and treating decay as early as possible. This allows for the removal of as little tooth structure as possible. In this way, we can create the smallest possible restorations that have superior bond strength due to the abrasion action of the Crystal Air.
